How Can I Help in our Environment

We are entering a modern world. We are developing modern gadgets, transportation vehicle and  buildings. But how is our environment? Today, we are blinded by our own creation. These products makes life easier but also makes life shorter. Why? Because we are destroying our environment. These products were one the cause of environment crisis. But still, it is not too late. Not too late for us to help regain our natural, healthy, and green environment.

As a student, here's a list of WHAT TO DO TO HELP OUR ENVIRONMENT:

1.      Plant trees

·         For every trees that being cut down, plant another that will replace it. Plants help minimize the carbon dioxide in the air.

2.      Clean our surroundings

·         If we don’t have time to clean our surroundings, at least clean your own place. Dispose your trash properly. You have done our responsibility and helped the environment.

3.      Segregate your trash.

·         Through this, it will minimize the plastics we burn which each bad for our environment. Biodegradable trash can be use as fertilizers.

4.      Minimize the use of transport vehicle.

·         If a place where you are going to is near enough for a walk, then do it. Don’t take your car if you can walk to make it to the place where you’re going.

5.      Conserve Energy

·         If we are not using the appliances or even the lights, turn it off. By doing this, we only not reduce our expenses but we also help our environment.

6.      Minimize the use of appliances

·         If the breeze is enough to cool our place just open the window, you don’t need to use a electric fan or air-condition unit. If the sky is clear and the sun shines brightly, just hang your garments outside and let it dry, you don’t need to use the dryer if that’s the case.

7.      Conserve Water

·         Rain water is a big help. We can still use it for cleaning and even for watering our plants. So if it rains hard, try to store some of it but not too long because it will be stagnant water.

8.      Use papers wisely

·         Trees were the primary materials for papers. If we don’t use it well, the trees being cut for the production of paper will increase. But if we use our papers wisely, we help minimize the trees being cut for production of papers.

9.      Recycle

·         Burning plastic emits bad chemicals for the environment but if we recycle this things, we can made another product and we minimize the burning of plastic.

10.  Green and eco-friendly building

·         As an architecture student, practice designing green and eco-friendly building. It will be a big help not for us but also for the future. Through this kind of design, we preserve our environment.
